Since 2007, SWDDF has provided peer support and professional development opportunities to charity leaders in the south west.

Our purpose

We deliver high-level, accessible, affordable, professsional development so charities across the South West flourish.

SWDDF provides an excellent forum for learning, sharing and getting to know others in similar roles. I have found it to be a very useful network for my own learning and that of my team.

What We've Achieved

  • SWDDF started in 2007 as a small voluntary group of Bristol-based Development Directors.

  • It now has more than 200 charities as members spanning the South West.

  • In 2016 we commissioned the first sector-specific leadership development programme to meet the needs and budgets of local charity leaders.

  • We delivered what our members requested: expert-led learning sessions, action learning of ‘live’ issues plus one-to-one coaching.

  • SWDDF also runs regular seminars, training events and peer learning groups.

  • Contact nancy@nancychambers.org to be added to the circulation about future events and activities.

  • The first cohort of 15 charity leaders completed the Leadership Development Programme in July 2017.

  • The second cohort of 12 charity leaders completed in July 2018.

  • The third cohort of 17 charity leaders began in October 18 and will be supported until July 19.

  • Two SWDDF peer learning groups are established in Bristol and we welcome enquiries from people with an interest in helping establish new peer learning groups in other areas.

  • If you would like to find out about joining the next cohort on the Leadership Development Programme starting October 2019, please click 'Take Action' above.
